Why not TouringPlans or ChatGPT?
Last updated Oct 14, 2026
Fair question. Plenty of good tools plan Walt Disney World trips, and for many people one of them is the better choice. Here's an honest guide to who should use what.
TouringPlans
TouringPlans offers crowd calendars, wait-time predictions, step-by-step touring plans and a hotel room-view finder. Its Walt Disney World access is $24.97 for one year, with no automatic renewal and a 45-day money-back guarantee (touringplans.com, checked Oct 14, 2026).
Choose TouringPlans if you want live re-optimizing in the park, crowd predictions to pick your dates, a year of access for several trips, or a longer refund window than ours. It has been around far longer than we have.
ChatGPT and other AI chat tools
A general AI assistant is quick, conversational and easy to revise, and you can ask it anything. It's great for brainstorming, restaurant ideas or questions outside the parks.
Watch out for details that change often: Lightning Lane tiers and prices, height limits, ride closures and Early Entry times. Check anything a chat answer tells you against Disney's own app or site before you rely on it.
The My Disney Experience app
Disney's free app is where you actually book Lightning Lane, place mobile orders and see live waits. Every plan, ours included, still needs it on the day.
Where Queue & Crew fits
We build a finished plan for a mixed-age group of up to 10 in a few minutes: who rides what given everyone's height, when the crew splits and where it regroups, which Lightning Lane picks follow Disney's tier rule, and a printable one-page pamphlet per day for anyone who'd rather not use a phone. Day 1 is free to preview; the full trip is $19 and, after unlock, sales are final (see the refund policy).
We're probably not for you if you're a Disney regular who already knows rope drop, you want live re-routing in the park, a travel agent is already planning your days, or you're visiting Disneyland or Universal (we only cover Walt Disney World).
